This is a variation on the traditional square in a square quilt pattern. Made with vintage fabrics, I machine pieced and then hand quilted this original fiber artwork. I stitched in the ditch, keeping the hand stitching simple to emphasize the geometric pattern. Bound with a playful star pattern, I love the mix of old and new, muted and fluorescent.
Cotton patchwork, sashiko hand stitching, a layer of natural cotton batting, hand bound by hand. Measures 20 inches by 20 inches. For best care, wash on delicate cycle, cold and line dry.
